Jamie Pfhul will discuss the Minnesota retail food industry as the College of Business Richard Schmitz Executive Lecturer on Thursday, Oct. 8.

The lecture, free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public, will be at 11 a.m. in Armstrong Hall Room 102.

Pfhul is president of the Minnesota Grocers Association. Her presentation will include an industry overview, explain the role of the Minnesota Grocers Association, and will address careers in the industry.

The Grocers Association is a state trade association that has represented the retail food industry since 1897. It represents more than 200 retail members operating nearly 1,200 stores, as well as 120 manufacturers and distributors.

Retired food retailer Richard R. Schmitz, namesake of the Richard Schmitz Executive Lecture, grew up in Brewster, Minn., and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from MSU. He established the annual College of Business lecture several years ago.
