Alum, author to discuss book 'Phantom' Oct. 29

Book reflects Gloria Caballero's non-profit rescue shelter

Minnesota State Mankato alumna and author Gloria Caballero – also known as “the Cat Whisperer” – will talk about her work with animals on Thursday, Oct. 29, at the university.

Caballero founded Scooter’s Place, a non-profit rescue shelter that saves abused cats. She performs socialization and physical therapy on crippled, abused and abandoned felines, and wrote “Phantom,” the first in a series of fiction books with stories from Scooter’s Place.

Her “Lunch and Learn” talk, co-sponsored by Minnesota State Mankato Student Activities and Alumni Relations, is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public. It will start at noon in Centennial Student Union Room 253.
