E-Books and E-Readers: Demonstrations and Discussion, Casual Lab ML45
The first part of the presentation will showcase demonstrations of various e-book readers such as Amazon’s Kindle, Barnes and Noble’s Nook, and Sony’s Reader. Following the demonstrations will be a brief exploration of some issues related to e-books.

A thought -provoking discussion featuring the insights of Professor Kathy Gorman, History Department and Professor Fred Slocum, Political Science Department.

Celebrate National Library Week with a visit to Kiyo Suyematsu Music Library PA 203
The afternoon will include a recital featuring Department of Music student performers from 2:00 to 2:50 in Elias J. Halling Recital Hall, followed by a reception in the Performing Arts Center Lobby. The campus and public are cordially invited to attend.

SLEUTHING @ YOUR LIBRARY with SHERLOCK HOLMES, Bethany Lutheran College, Meyer Hall
Tim Johnson, curator of rare and special collections at the University of Minnesota’s Anderson Library, will be presenting Sleuthing @Your Library with Sherlock Holmes. There is a $5 per person admission charge, and tickets will be sold at the door. Sponsored by the Southern Minnesota Interlibrary Exchange (SMILE).

Chemists in the Library, Memorial Library, Education Resource Center.
The Minnesota Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the campus ACS Chemistry Club students and the Chemistry Faculty will host a combined event demonstrating to kids that science can be fun. This free program is intended for elementary school students.
