Lama Shenpen Drolma will present two public Kessel workshops Monday, June 7, at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

The sessions, sponsored by the Kessel Peace Institute, the Philosophy Department and the colleges of Arts & Humanities and Social & Behavioral Sciences, are open to students, faculty, staff and the public. Event sponsors suggest a $15 donation per session, but no one will be turned away.

Drolma’s first workshop, “Daily Life as Spiritual Practice,” will be from 1-4 p.m. in Armstrong Hall Room 323. During the session she will teach contemplation and meditation techniques that allow users to find spiritual growth anywhere, at any time.

Her second session, “Bringing Balance to Adversity: Increasing Our Capacity to relieve Suffering,” will be from 6-8 p.m. in Centennial Student Union Room 284.

Drolma is resident lama of Iron Knot Ranch in New Mexico. She was ordained as a lama in 1996 by Tibetan meditation master His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche.
