WASHINGTON — Faculty members from three area higher education institutions have been awarded Fulbright Scholarships.
Cindy Johnson-Groh of Gustavus Adolphus College will study in Tanzania; Joseph Kunkel of Minnesota State University, Mankato will study in Germany; and Thomas Gjersvig, also of Minnesota State Mankato, will study in Korea.
The Fulbright Scholarship is America’s flagship international exchange program. It is sponsored by the U. S.
Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
The program’s purpose is to build mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.
