Minnesota State University, Mankato doctoral student Kerry Diekmann is one of 10 students across the country selected to serve as a National Student Advisory Council member by the American Association of University Women.
Diekmann, a Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral student and Women’s Center graduate assistant from St. Paul, will provide AAUW staff with information about student needs and ideas for combating sex discrimination in higher education and the workplace. She also will promote AAUW and its programs on campus, will contribute to AAUW’s “Dialog” blog, and will be a student leader at the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders in June in Washington, D.C.
Serving on the SAC provides members with many opportunities to represent the voices and experiences of college students, develop as leaders, network, and gain valuable résumé-building experience while learning more about one of the largest women’s organizations in the world.
