Paintings and drawings by Lori Larusso are on exhibit at Minnesota State Mankato’s Conkling Gallery through Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Larusso, adept at found and invented imagery and intentionality, was the Department of Art’s Andreas Endowment Resident earlier this week, teaching about generic representations of middle American life that drive American culture.

In addition to her residency, this week Larusso presented a public about her work.

Larusso exhibits regionally, nationally and internationally, and in December 2010 received a grant for a collaborative prose-art project.

She earned MFAs from Maryland Institute College of Art and the Mount Royal School of Art and a BFA from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. She also a fellow at the MacDowell Colony.

The exhibit and residency are sponsored by the Nadine B. Andreas Endowment.

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive, doctoral university with 15,393 students, is part of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system.
