Mankato, university to host Minnesota Senior Games
Olympic-style event for age 50 and older
Minnesota State Mankato will host the 2011 and 2012 Minnesota Senior Games in June -- an athletic festival featuring track and field and other games in an Olympics-style setting for anyone 50 years old and older.

Mankato will host the 2011 and 2012 Senior Games, an athletic festival featuring track and field and other games in an Olympics-style setting for anyone 50 years old and older.
The Minnesota Senior Games will take place June 2-5 this year.
Athletes compete in a variety of events, including a 5k and a 10k run, volleyball, softball, track and field, swimming, pickleball, horseshoe, archery and other events. Athletes compete within a five-year age range. For example, people ages 50-54 compete with each other, as will people ages 55-59, and so on.
Most events will take place at Minnesota State Mankato, with the exception of golf, horseshoe and archery.
