Dental clinics give students real-world experience
Dental Hygiene: Educating students, and enhancing people's smiles.

There’s one college at Minnesota State Mankato that not only educates students but makes people in the community smile.
It also helps them hear better, eat healthier, feel better and do their jobs more safely. For students in the College of Allied Health & Nursing, the free and reduced-cost clinics provide real-world practice for the skills they’re learning.
For people in a broad swath of south-central Minnesota, the college’s programs offer quite a deal.
“We fill a niche here of individuals who have nowhere else to turn,” said Lisa Fleck, chairwoman of the Department of Dental Hygiene.
