After more than 40 years, Mike Hodapp is retiring
Mike Hodapp: Helping, serving students for 40 years.

Ask any current or former student leader at Minnesota State Mankato about Mike Hodapp, and you’ll probably get this reaction.
First, they’ll smile, then go on and on about what a great guy he is and how wonderful he is to work with.
Then, tell them Mike’s retiring and watch that smile turn into a frown and possibly tears, and maybe, outright sobbing.
OK, that last part may be an exaggeration. But the fact remains: Hodapp, who has been associated with Minnesota State Mankato in some way since the mid-1960s — as dean of student fees for most of that time — has decided to call it quits.
“When you’re in college, you’re at that age where you have a lot of passion and you want autonomy and independence,” said Randy Wanke, former Student Senate president and communications manager for Pioneer Hi-Bred. “And Mike had that institutional knowledge. He knew how to share it with you and knew how to do it in a way that was useful.”
