One of Minnesota’s largest multicultural events, the 35th annual Mankato Area International Festival, will be Sunday, April 17, at Mankato East High School.
The event, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public. It is sponsored by Minnesota State Mankato’s Kearney International Center and Mankato Public Schools.
The popular festival includes exhibits, non-stop entertainment, a silent auction, a flag parade, the annual American Indian opening ceremony, and a “children’s world” with free arts and crafts from many cultures.
“In keeping with this year’s ‘Global Groove’ theme, the anniversary event will be a celebration of global dance and melody with a sense of unity and harmony,” said festival director Adesola Adetoba.
