Workshop for first-time supervisors is May 12, 13

A two-day workshop to help first-time supervisors will be held Thursday and Friday, May 12 and 13.

A two-day workshop to help first-time supervisors will be held at Minnesota State Mankato Thursday and Friday, May 12 and 13.

The workshop, open to any new supervisor, will be presented by faculty members Dan Sachau, Andi Lassiter and Scott Fee. It is a presentation of the Minnesota State Mankato College of Extended Learning.

The three faculty experts will explain how new supervisors can better manage time and projects, communicate with and motivate employees, and evaluate employee performance.

Sachau, professor and director of the industrial/organizational psychology graduate program, leads a group that provides management consulting services to local, national and international organizations. Fee, construction management associate professor and former chair, is an expert in project management, green building and international service learning. Lassiter, industrial/organizational psychology associate professor, is an expert in leadership and employee development.

Their presentations will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in Centennial Student Union Room 238. Participants may earn 12 contact hours of continuing education credits for the workshop.

Cost of the workshop is $799 and includes all materials, refreshments and lunch each day.
