Minnesota State University, Mankato will graduate approximately 1,890 students during spring commencement exercises Saturday, May 7, in the Taylor Center on campus.

That number includes three doctorate of nursing practice degrees, 99 master of arts degrees, eight master of fine arts degrees, five master of arts in teaching degrees, 12 master of business administration degrees, 15 master of public administration degrees, 12 master of science in nursing degrees, 149 master of science degrees and 18 specialist degrees.

To be awarded at the undergraduate level are 172 bachelor of arts degrees, 46 bachelor of fine arts degrees, 10 bachelor of athletic training degrees, 1,620 bachelor of science degrees, 14 bachelor of science in civil engineering degrees, five bachelor of science in computer engineering degrees, 16 bachelor of science in electrical engineering degrees, 20 bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degrees, 27 bachelor of science in social work degrees and 40 associate of arts degrees.

One hundred thirty-six undergraduate students will graduate summa cum laude, 322 will graduate magna cum laude and 264 will graduate cum laude.

The 2011 spring total of approximately 1,890 is up by 12 percent from the 1,682 who were graduated in spring 2010. The total is approximate because some students are still completing their course requirements.

Total Minnesota State Mankato graduates for the 2010-’11 academic year are 3,348 (including 1,458 who were graduated in December 2010).

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,393 students, is part of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system, which comprises 32 state institutions.
