The Minnesota Institute of Public Health awarded the Mankato Department of Public Safety a $3,300 grant for overtime enforcement to help support public safety's ongoing efforts to reduce underage alcohol consumption.
Extra enforcement begins tomorrow (Thursday, Aug. 18) with additional staffing in areas where underage consumption typically occurs. Police officers will also be on the lookout for people who supply alcohol to underage persons and/or provide a gathering place to consume alcohol, which violates Mankato’s social host ordinance.
