Former Lamont Cranston Band acoustic guitarist Bob Bingham and Northwoods finger-style guitarist Gordon Thorne will perform Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Minnesota State Mankato.
The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. in Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center.
Bingham and Thorne form what the Minneapolis Star-Tribune hails as “one of the best ad hoc acoustic duos in the country – a double shot of finger-style blues at its finest.”
The two combine masterful guitar work with soulful vocals and a comfortable command of the stage. Their performances are a trip through an American musical landscape inspired by country bluesers, early jazzers, old-time shouters and rock n’ rollers.
Admission is $12 for members of the public, and $11 for students with a valid MavCard. Those who wish to purchase tickets online may go to www.mnsu.edu/music. Those who want more information may call the Performance Series office at (507) 389-5549.
Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university, is part of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system, which comprises 32 state institutions.
