Traumatic brain injury course to be offered Sept. 9

Continuing education about traumatic brain injury will be offered by the College of Extended Learning in an on-campus course for health professionals Friday, Sept. 9.

Continuing education about traumatic brain injury will be offered by Minnesota State University, Mankato’s College of Extended Learning in an on-campus course for health professionals Friday, Sept. 9.

The course, “Coma to college: cognitive rehabilitation after traumatic brain injury,” will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 284 of Centennial Student Union.

Don McLennan, a certified speech language pathologist who will present the course, has provided rehabilitation for people with brain injuries for 30 years. He has collaborated with the Department of Defense, served on numerous professional committees and won a number of awards.

Participants may register online and at the class; they will earn six contact hours and a certificate. Fee for the class is $50 for professionals and faculty and $10 for current students.
