The Minnesota River Valley Wind Ensemble will perform “celebration music” during a Performance Series concert Sunday, Sept. 25, at Minnesota State Mankato.
The ensemble, directed by music faculty member Amy Roisum-Foley, will perform at 3 p.m. in Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center.
Roisum-Foley describes the concert as a “celebration of sorts” which will include such pieces as “Three Klezmer Miniatures” by Philip Sparke, “Fiesta del Pacifico” by Roger Nixon and “With Pleasure: Dance Hilarious” by John Philip Sousa.
The ensemble is comprised of professional and semi-professional musicians, music teachers, other professionals, and Minnesota State Mankato music majors. It will hold five rehearsals to prepare for the concert.
Concert admission is $9 for the general public, $7 for students with a valid MavCard, and $6 for other students (K - 12). Those who wish to purchase tickets online may go to www.mnsu.edu/music. Those who want more information may call the Performance Series office at (507) 389-5549.
