Comedian Julie Goldman to perform Oct. 17
Comedian Julie Goldman will perform Monday, Oct. 17, as part of National Coming Out Week, sponsored by the university’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Center.

Comedian Julie Goldman will perform at Minnesota State Mankato Monday, Oct. 17, as part of National Coming Out Week, sponsored by the university’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Center.
Her performance, at 7 p.m. in Ostrander Auditorium of Centennial Student Union, is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public.
Goldman, a comedian, actress and musician from Los Angeles, starred in three seasons of “The Big Gay Sketch Show,” a comedy program on the Logo television network. Her first stand-up performance was at the Comedy Connection in Boston.
Other events that are part of National Coming Out Week and LGBT History Month at Minnesota State Mankato:
• Monday, Oct. 10: “No Straight-O,” a performance by the PEACE theatre troupe demonstrating commonly misused phrases with advice about confronting harmful language, at 9:00 p.m. in Crawford Residence Community Lobby.
• Tuesday, and Wednesday, Oct. 11: Students and campus community members will show support for the LGBT community from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the main floor of Centennial Student Union.
• Safe zone training Tuesday, Oct. 11, and Wednesday, Oct. 19, to help students, faculty and staff learn more about the LGBT community and how to create a safe campus.
