MANKATO — Anyone who’s ever had a class in Armstrong or Morris Hall at Minnesota State University will appreciate this news: the pair will soon undergo a $582,469 makeover.
Also on campus, there’s a $691,928 Dental Simulation and Technology Lab project in the works. And ever fancy a warm walk from the library to the Centennial Student Union? It’s coming, with the help of $420,000 in campus funding.
These three projects, as well as 28 others, are being funded by $4 million set aside for “Big Ideas” at MSU. President Richard Davenport said Thursday the funding was made available for innovative ideas that would advance the university’s mission.
Davenport said the idea for the campaign came about after he started doing “ walk-arounds” on campus and talking directly with students and faculty about their needs.
“ There are all these ideas in every corner of our university,” he said.
“ We don’t always hear about them.”
