Timothy Huebsch of Maple Grove, Minn., received the 2012 Distinguished Young Alumni Award from Minnesota State University, Mankato last week.

Huebsch, an integration manager for digital marketing at General Mills, is one of 10 2012 alumni award winners. He was honored at an April 20 ceremony hosted by the Minnesota State Mankato Alumni Association.

Distinguished Young Alumni Awards go to graduates 35 years old or younger who have reached professional achievements early in their careers, and have positively impacted their communities.

Huebsch graduated summa cum laude in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and has worked at General Mills ever since. He has progressed through leadership roles of increasing responsibility in multiple business divisions. In his current role, he provides leadership to a global team responsible for managing a portfolio of more than 300 consumer websites serving up more than 200 million visits each year. Huebsch received Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” award in 2010 for his contributions to business and community.

While attending Minnesota State Mankato, Huebsch served on the Minnesota State Student Association as senator, technology coordinator and vice president. During his four years on campus, Huebsch used his passion for technology to champion big ideas; one of those ideas resulted in campus-wide wireless Internet access.

Huebsch also participated as a judge for the annual science fair, an activity he still participates in today. He served on the search committee that brought President Richard Davenport to campus and is a former president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. He currently serves on the Foundation Board and is an avid supporter of the theatre department.
