Minnetonka’s Barbara Stoflet Receives Distinguished Alumni Award
One of 11 2013 alumni award winners.

Mankato, Minn. – Barbara Stoflet of Minnetonka, Minn., received the 2013 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from Minnesota State University, Mankato last week.
Stoflet, a 6th grade teacher at Gatewood Elementary School in Hopkins, Minn., is one of 11 2013 alumni award winners. She was honored at an April 26 ceremony hosted by the Minnesota State Mankato Alumni Association.
Alumni Achievement Awards go to graduates who have achieved high rank or honor in their professions and have had a major impact on their communities.
Stoflet earned a master’s degree in experiential education from Minnesota State Mankato in 1994.
An accomplished educator, Stoflet was named Minnesota Teacher of the Year both in 2001 and 2002. She was also awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science in 2008, an honor that afforded the opportunity to meet and introduce President Barack Obama at the 2010 Educate to Innovate Campaign.
