Feb. 16-March 4: ‘Project Passion’ Art Exhibit
Graphic designer and illustrator Mikey Burton to give art enrichment lecture on Feb. 16.

Mankato, Minn. – The “Project Passion” art exhibition, which according to an AIGA Minnesota announcement celebrates the self-initiated work of graphic designers from all over the United States and beyond, is coming to Minnesota State University, Mankato from Monday, Feb. 16 through Wednesday, March 4.
The exhibit will open after graphic designer and illustrator Mikey Burton presents an art enrichment lecture that is free and open to the public from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 16 in Ostrander Auditorium, located in Minnesota State Mankato’s Centennial Student Union.
After Burton’s lecture, the “Project Passion” exhibit will be open from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16 and then through Wednesday, March 4 at 139 in Nelson Hall, the Conkling Gallery, during gallery hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday).
According to AIGA Minnesota, the exhibit features 38 self-initiated projects that were selected by jurors Burton, Kate Bingaman-Burt and Phil Jones. These projects represent the work of 68 designers and creatives coming from 23 unique communities that stretch from Minneapolis to Brooklyn, San Francisco, and London.
Burton will be doing an art enrichment residency on Feb. 16-17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Minnesota State Mankato’s Nelson Hall studios.
Burton’s residency and the “Project Passion” exhibit is part of Minnesota State Mankato’s art enrichment series.
The exhibition was organized by Department of Art faculty member David Rogers. Also contributing were faculty colleagues Ellen Schofield, Bradley Coulter and Matthew Willemsen.
