April 10: College of Business Research Day
Event will include discussion of hedge fund industry, faculty research award presentation.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato faculty member Hyuna Park, an associate professor of finance in the College of Business at the University, will discuss the current state of the hedge fund industry and four faculty members will be recognized for receiving 2015-16 research awards during a College of Business research day event on Friday, April 10.
The event will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. on the Minnesota State Mankato campus in Centennial Student Union room 245, and it is free and open to the public.
The program will begin with a presentation by Park, who will provide her perspectives on the hedge fund industry and summarize her research in that area.
After Park’s presentation, the College of Business will recognize faculty members Queen Booker, Jianwei Hou, Christine Brown Mahoney and Stephen E. Wilcox, who are the recipients of this year’s College of Business faculty research awards.
The purpose of the research awards is to promote and acknowledge high-quality business research. All full-time and fixed-term faculty from the College of Business at Minnesota State Mankato are eligible to apply. A maximum of four research awards of approximately $5,000 are granted every year. It’s the second year that the College of Business has presented research awards to its faculty members.
To receive a research award, the applicant must demonstrate superior scholarship as evidenced by recent publications in prestigious journals and a consistent record of influential scholarly works.
