Oct. 5-21: Jenny Schmid Print Exhibit

Mankato, Minn. – Minneapolis-based artist Jenny Schmid’s prints will be on display in an exhibit from Monday, Oct. 5 through Wednesday, Oct. 21 in Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Conkling Gallery.
Schmid’s exhibit is free and open to the public, and her work will be on display at 139 Nelson Hall, the Conkling Gallery, during gallery hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday).
Schmid will deliver a public lecture at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5 in Centennial Student Union’s Ostrander Auditorium, with a reception following in the Conkling Gallery. Schmid is also doing a Studio Residency on Oct. 5-6 in the Nelson Hall Printmaking Studios.
The exhibit is made possible through the Nadine B. Andreas Endowment for Artists and Scholars in memory of Andreas’ lifelong devotion to the visual and performing arts.

Schmid, who lives and works in Minneapolis, runs Bikini Press International and is an associate professor at the University of Minnesota.
Schmid exhibits her work nationally and internationally, and is represented by The Davidson Galleries in Seattle. Her prints can be found in collections that include the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Block Museum in Chicago and the Spencer Art Museum. She has received the Fulbright, the McKnight Fellowship, the Bush Artists Grant, a 2010 Jerome Film and Video Grant and a 2013 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant.
