Nov. 10: Annual Latino Engineering & Academic Day
More than 200 students and school representatives from 11 Minnesota high schools are expected to attend.

Mankato, Minn. – More than 200 students and school representatives from 11 Minnesota high schools are expected to attend Minnesota State University, Mankato’s annual “Latino Engineering & Academic Day” on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University’s Centennial Student Union Ballroom.
The annual event, hosted by Minnesota State Mankato’s Division of Institutional Diversity in collaboration with the University’s College of Science, Engineering and Technology, is intended to encourage and motivate Latino youth in grades 9-12 to pursue education opportunities in areas of engineering and to increase their access to higher education.
Exhibits and information from the following areas will be available:
- Automotive Engineering Technology
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Engineering Technology
- Manufacturing Engineering Technology
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields
