Summer Outdoor Film Series Concludes Aug. 4

Mankato, Minn. – The Mankato-area community is invited to bring a blanket along with families and friends to a free summer outdoor film series at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Student Activities at Minnesota State Mankato, with assistance from FUN.COM, will host outdoor films on campus on June 9 and 23, July 14 and Aug. 4. Each film will be projected onto an outdoor movie screen and all are open to students, faculty and the general public. All of the films will be rated PG-13 or lower.
The first three films will be shown in the amphitheatre (pictured), located between the Centennial Student Union and Memorial Library with free parking available in Lots 11 and 11A, located just off West Road. The fourth and final film, as part of a special partnership with the Minnesota Vikings, will be shown at the Vikings’ Verizon Wireless Training Camp on Aug. 4 at Blakeslee Stadium.
Those attending outdoor films are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to sit on. Popcorn, candy and beverages will be available for purchase. All four films will start at 8:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, films will be shown adjacent to the amphitheatre in Ostrander Auditorium, which is located in Centennial Student Union.

• Thursday, June 23 at 8:30 p.m. “Batman vs. Superman” – Rating: PG-13
• Thursday, July 14 at 8:30 p.m. “The Jungle Book” – Rating: PG
• Thursday, Aug. 4 at 8:30 p.m. “Captain America: Civil War” – Rating: PG – 13*

The outdoor film series is a part of a summer programming series sponsored by the Centennial Student Union and Student Activities. Other events include an organized bike ride, outdoor films, BBQ demonstration, and other events. All events are free to the public. Student Activities has five full-time staff and four graduate students who provide guidance and planning for more than 230 student groups, Greek Life, Community Engagement and campus-wide programming.
