June 10: Department of Family Consumer Science to Hold 8th Annual Parent-Child Play Day

Free event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Family Consumer Science will host its 8th annual “Parent-Child Play Day” from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, June 10 at Rasmussen Woods (555 Stoltzman Road in Mankato).

Families with preschool and early school-age children from the entire greater Mankato community are invited to attend. Participation is free. The event will be held rain or shine.

As part of the event’s activities, Minnesota State Mankato undergraduate students will create activities to engage caregivers and children in play with low-cost and no-cost household items.

The play day is being organized by students and faculty as part of a class about the benefits of play for children taught by Minnesota State Mankato Associate Professor Heather Von Bank.
