Update 03/13/2017: Both suspects involved in this incident have been arrested.


Mankato-On February 24, police made an arrest in the recent robbery that happened around midnight on February 21 at 1801 Monks Avenue. 


  • Buay David Duol, age 20, Mankato


  • Tamara Tina Boyd, age 18, Mankato

Boyd is a work acquaintance with one of the victims.  Although Boyd was not with the victim at the time, Boyd requested that the victim pick up a friend (friend was unknown to victim).  While waiting, victims were approached by Duol who displayed a firearm and told vehicle occupants to give them their items, which they did. 

Duol was arrested on an unrelated warrant and during the arrest a firearm (that matched the description) was located.  Through a search warrant, several items from the robbery were recovered.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Tamara Tina Boyd is asked to contact police at 911.

University Security has learned of an off-campus robbery that occurred at 1801 Monks Avenue on 02/21/2017 at approximately 12 A.M. This address is located across the street from Lot 23 (Free Lot), near the southeast corner of campus. The Mankato Police are investigating and issued the following statement:


Mankato-Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a person involved in an alleged robbery around midnight (February 21) at 1801 Monks Avenue. The suspect is described as a slender black male, about five feet seven inches, age 19 to 21. He was wearing a black beanie (hat), black hoodie and black jeans.

A vehicle driver was waiting to pick someone up when the suspect approached his vehicle asking a question. The suspect opened the driver's door, displayed a silver revolver and told the occupants to give him their items, which they did. The suspect also took items from the trunk and then fled on foot without incident.
