Sept. 23-Nov. 25: Exhibit at Blue Earth County Historical Society Highlights University

Exhibit that opens Saturday, Sept. 23 will highlight the University's nearly 150-year history.

The Blue Earth County Historical Society recently announced that a special exhibit highlighting Minnesota State University, Mankato's nearly 150-year history would open Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Blue Earth County History Center, located at 424 Warren Street in Mankato.

The exhibit, titled "Celebrating Minnesota State Mankato 150 Years: From Normal School to University," will be on display from Sept. 23 through Nov. 25.

The exhibit will include photographs and artifacts featuring noteworthy individuals and places on campus as well as fun facts and stories about the college and student life. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

As a part of the exhibit opening, the Blue Earth County Historical Society will be hosting "Historic Valley Campus Walking Tours" on Saturday, Sept. 23, with tours leaving from the History Center every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and noon. Each tour will last approximately one hour. Walking tours are $8 for adults, $5 for Blue Earth County Historical Society members and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Historic Valley Campus walking tours will take place rain or shine. In case of rain, the program will be a virtual walking tour at the History Center.
