CSU Haunted Take Over - Oct 25


Get ready to face your worst nightmare at Minnesota State University, Mankato


MANKATO, Minn- The Student Events Team at Minnesota State University, Mankato is getting ready for another year of scares for their 7th annual CSU Haunted Takeover. If you think you can face your worst nightmare come to the Centennial Student Union on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 9 p.m. to midnight.


This event is free for students who present a MavCard and $5 for the public. Attendees must be 18 years or older to walk through the haunted house unless accompanied by an adult. There is no flash photography, food and drink or backpacks at this event. Closed toed shoes are also required to participate.


The CSU is transformed into separate rooms that each contains a different theme related to peoples’ worst fears. The rooms will be staffed by a variety of student organizations. Some of the organizations participating are: African Student Association, Rec Club, Hmong Student Association, The Department of Theater and Dance, Minnesota State Student Association and Chicano Latin American Student Association. This year will feature a clown “It” room and an Annabelle doll room this year. Annabelle: The Creation will play while guests are waiting to enter.


The CSU Haunted Takeover was one of three finalists for the 2016 National Association of Campus Activities: Best Campus Tradition Award. In addition, they have campus programming awards in 2012, 2014 and 2016.


Chrissy Nathan, a board member on the Student Events Team said, “I’m super excited for another year of the Haunted Takeover. I’m ready for a good scare!”
