The University's Violence Awareness & Response Program’s interns have organized an event called “That’s Not Love: Relationships Shouldn’t Hurt” Thursday, Nov. 16 from 12-1:30 p.m. in Centennial Student Union, Room 201.

The intent of the event is to raise awareness of resources for survivors of intimate partner violence.
The event will feature speakers from the Violence Awareness & Response Program, the Committee Against Domestic Abuse organization in Mankato and the University's Department of Social Work.

Speakers will focus on the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships, red flags for abusive relationships, barriers to leaving an abusive relationship, and safety planning. Resources will be provided and light refreshments will be served.

The Violence Awareness and Response Program is a program at Minnesota State Mankato. It provides a safe, supportive space for students and others affiliated with the University. The Violence Awareness and Response Program’s mission is to reduce the pervasiveness and effect of sexual violence, domestic/relationship violence, and stalking.
