University Closing at 2:30 p.m. Today (Monday, Jan. 22)

University is scheduled to re-open Tuesday at 6 a.m.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato President Richard Davenport announced that the University’s Mankato campus is closing effective at 2:30 p.m. today due to severe winter weather, transportation advisories and road closures in areas leading to and from campus.

All non-weather essential employees are advised to exercise caution in traveling home.

Minnesota State Mankato will re-open at 6 a.m. Tuesday. All employees should report to work as scheduled.

Employees designated as “weather- or emergency-essential employees” (per Minnesota State Board Policy 4.4 Weather/Short-Term Emergency Closings) should contact their supervisors regarding their work schedules and reporting times during University closings.

Tuesday classes are currently on as scheduled. Any updates on potential Tuesday class cancellations will be announced in accordance with University severe weather procedures.

Minnesota State Mankato announced Sunday (Jan. 21) that all of its day and evening classes today were cancelled on its Mankato and Edina campuses.

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 14,712 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 30 colleges and seven universities.
