Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Music News Release, 3-30-2018

MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato's Department of Music will host a performance by tenor Aaron Humble (pictured) and pianist and organist Christine Schulz at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (720 S. 2nd St. in Mankato).

The program will include Antonín Dvoƙák’s "Biblical Songs" and pieces by Eric Thiman, H.T. Burleigh, Arthur Honegger and more. The recital looks specifically at repertoire created by composers who dedicated their lives to music and the church.

After 10 years with the renowned vocal ensemble, Cantus, Humble is now in his second year teaching at Minnesota State Mankato.

Humble is a sought-after chamber musician, a regular collaborator with the Mankato Symphony, and the artistic director of the Apollo Men’s Chorus in Minneapolis. Schulz serves at Bethlehem Lutheran Church as a musician and is also known for using her talents in the pit orchestra for many of the University’s theater productions. The recital marks Humble and Schulz’s first collaboration and promises to be a great night of music making.

There is not an admission charge for the event, although a free-will offering is suggested. For more information, call the Performance Series office, (507) 389-5549.
