Sept. 30: Sesquicentennial Musical Showcase

MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State University, Mankato's Department of Music will feature a Sesquicentennial Musical Showcase concert Sunday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m. at the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

The program honors the 150th anniversary of the University, which was founded in 1868 as the state’s second normal school.

The program features the University concert choir, the concert wind ensemble, the University community orchestra and Maverick vocal precision (pictured). Along with standard ensemble repertoire performances, the audience will be invited to sing along with the concert wind ensemble in a rendition of the Minnesota State Mankato hymn.

Concert admission is $9 for general admission and $7 for students with a valid MavCARD. Discount tickets are available online for University students. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged.
