Oct. 10: Voter Registration Event

Event is in Memorial Library.

Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office Announcement, 10-5-2018

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato's Library Services, in collaboration with the Community Engagement office and the St. Peter League of Women Voters, will be offering a “Vote with Confidence” campus event Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The free program will be held on the 1st floor of Memorial Library. The event is open to anyone who wants to participate. The goal of the event is to get as many people as possible to register and to feel comfortable about voting in the Nov. 6 election.

This nonpartisan voting seminar will show new and prospective voters the ins and outs of Minnesota’s voting process. Attendees will go through five stations to learn how to register to vote, what elections and races they will vote on this year, what to do at their polling pace, and how to vote by absentee ballot. A volunteer election judge will be on hand to walk participants through a mock vote, while other volunteers will be on hand to help submit absentee ballot applications.
