I'm on academic warning or probation. What's next?

 

Please remember: There will be a registration hold placed on your record. You NEED to follow the steps below to take care of that hold.

If you have a major selected, determine which academic college offers your major.  Use the chart below and contact the office associated with your college for assistance with academic warning.

If you are undecided about your major, work with New Student & Family Programs while on academic warning or probation. Follow the steps below as soon as possible:

 

1. Watch the video below. Take notes to remember this information.

 

 

2. Determine your MSU GPA, and calculate your credit completion rate. The video below can help

3. Complete the online Self-Assessment.

 

4. Call 507-389-5498 to schedule an appointment with an advisor in New Student & Family Programs.

 

5. Attend your appointment to develop an Academic Improvement Plan with your advisor. Your advisor will help you understand what grades you need to earn to avoid academic suspension.
