Priority Move-In and Move Crew Option

If you have already submitted a Move Crew Form with your Learning Community Enrollment Form, you do not need to do this form again, unless you would like to change what you originally submitted.

Learning community students have the opportunity to move in to their residence community a day early! Most new-entering first-year students will move in on Thursday, August 21, 2014, but students in the learning communities program have the option of moving in on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. In 2013, over 80% of learning community students chose to move in early.

Why should you opt to move in early and help with Move Crew?

  • Less of a crowd! Rather than moving in at the same time as everyone in your residence halls, you'll be moving in with only learning community students! That means better access to elevators and flatbeds, less crowded hallways, and more close-in parking will be available to you.
  • Early social connections! Since most of the people moving in on that Wednesday will be learning community students, you'll have the opportunity to connect with the friends you'll be living and taking classes with a day early. We'll also provide a dessert social and welcome event that evening to help you get acquainted.
  • Opportunity to get involved! Move-In Day for first-year students is a busy and fun time on campus, and we need many volunteers for a successful day. If you move in early, you'll be expected to help on Move Crew. You may be asked to help families unload cars, hand out campus information, welcome families and students, or any number of other tasks. Don't worry; we'll provide training to get you feeling comfortable, and there will be plenty of staff members around helping as well.
  • Free T-Shirt! Moving in early and helping with Move Crew entitles you to a free t-shirt.
