Family Orientation & Resources

College students are more successful when their families are interested in and support their efforts. Family Orientation is designed specifically for parents and family members of new students. The program allows family members to become familiar with Minnesota State University, Mankato and meet with faculty, administrators, and Minnesota State University, Mankato students. Presentations are geared toward helping family members assist their students with the transition to college and to understand the transitions the family will face.

During your time on campus family and guests will have the opportunity to…

• Interact with current students, other family members, faculty and staff
• Receive information from various offices such as Financial Aid, Residence Life, University Dining, and much more
• Learn more about your transition as a family member of a college student

Family attendance is not required; however family is strongly encouraged to participate. Family members/guests register for Orientation by including their information on the student’s Orientation registration.
