Office 365 is MavMAIL plus a collection of Microsoft apps and cloud-based services, allowing users to access a catalog of software using any web browser on virtually any device as long as an internet connection is available. Connect to Office 365 apps here.

Information on getting started with Office 365 (for business) is available here.

Students, faculty and staff at MSU, Mankato may also download Microsoft Office 2016 FREE onto their personally-owned laptops/desktops, and save their Office files to their Office 365 OneDrive online storage drive. Visit the student software page for more details.

Office 365 Transition: More Information

What is going to happen?

Beginning December 19, 2018 @10:00pm, Minnesota State Mankato will transition from our Office 365 environment to the Office 365 implementation provided by our MinnState system office. The result will increase your digital security, streamline all login processes, allow for D2L integration of Office 365, and align us more closely with all other campuses in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. IT Solutions will keep you informed through newsletters, social media and signage around campus. We are also available to take part in department meetings upon request.

Why will this happen?

All MinnState colleges and universities are required to use this version of Office 365 for office productivity tool functions by the end of 2019.  Minnesota State Mankato will be the largest university to implement the change, and we'll be following several MinnState colleges and universities that have already converted.  The new Office 365 implementation will allow us to work seamlessly with other institutions in the system and will create a smoother transition for students who transfer to Minnesota State Mankato from other colleges.

How will I be impacted?

This change will affect everyone at Minnesota State Mankato because it will change your login. Your awareness of action you will need to take throughout the semester will make this transition easier for you. IT Solutions will offer assistance with all issues during the winter break transition and throughout the spring semester.  Please check this page for more updates as the changeover approaches.

Will my email address change?

All email addresses will be preserved from MSU's Office 365 environment to the shared Office 365 environment (after migration). However, any new accounts or address that are created will have a different format (After December 19, 2018).
