The space program of a master plan provides a numerical evaluation that can be used as a planning tool for capital funding because it provides the University with a set of numbers from which to determine proposed building projects. Space calculations also provide the University with an understanding and a direction of how to better utilize its present space, what new square footage is needed and where the University is heading in the short and long terms.
