Minnesota State University Mankato is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for innovative projects designed to advance our Strategic Priorities 2010-2015.

For the 2014-2015 review cycle for funding in 2015-2016, the University particularly invites proposals aligned with 2 or our Strategic Priorities 2010-2015, as follows:

  • Applied Doctoral Institution (Think and Act Like a Doctoral Institution)

  • Grow Extended Learning

Proposals for projects that address action items which have not been completed within the 2 designated Strategic Priorities are encouraged.  For your reference, the 2013 Progress Report on our Strategic Plan 2010-2015, which indicates action items "completed," "in-progress," and "not yet started" may be found at: [PDF] (206 KiB)

Additional guidelines include:

The Strategic Priority Funding program is to provide seed funding to launch or pilot new projects, not for on-going personnel or operational expenses, or continuation funding.  Priority may be given to applicants that have not received prior funding.  In determining funding requested for a singular projects, applicants are strongly encouraged to consider the total funding available for award within the Strategic Priority Funding program.  Please note that strategic priority funds awarded in the 2014-2015 review cycle will only be available for expenditure between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016.

The Strategic Priority Funding program is open to any Minnesota State Mankato employee.

The Strategic Priority Funding proposal process and timeline for 2014-2015 is as follows:

     Step 1: Idea Proposals. Idea proposals may be up to 500 words with no attachments.  During the review process, the Sub-Meet or Cabinet may ask proposal authors for supplemental information.  Idea proposals are due November 3, 2014.

     Step 2: Full Proposals.  Based upon competitive review of Idea Proposals (Step 1), a selected number of proposal authors will be invited to submit Full Proposals.  Full proposals will include budgets, timelines, and so on.  Full Proposals are due January 14, 2015.
