Communiqué #9 to the Campus Community
from President Wilson G. Bradshaw, Search Committee Chair

The seventh meeting of the Presidential Search Committee was held over January 18-19, 2002. During this meeting, committee members interviewed eight presidential candidates at a neutral site. Following the interviews, the committee discussed the information they had gathered from the candidates, and selected four semi-finalists to invite to visit the campus.

The candidates will visit campus during the last week of January and the first week of February 2002. The dates of the candidates' forums with constituent groups will be chosen in consultation with university leadership, the candidates, and the Office of the Chancellor. The names of the visiting candidates and the schedule of on-campus sessions will be announced in a press release from MSU, Mankato during the week of January 21. The same information will be posted on this web-site.

Immediately following the on-campus forums, the committee will recommend candidates to the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees in February.

"Communiqué #10" will be posted here after the committee has made its recommendations to the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees.

"Communiqué #11," the final communiqué on this site, will be posted after the appointment of the successful candidate by the Board of Trustees, and will announce the new President of Minnesota State University, Mankato.
