Admission Process

Dear Prospective Applicant,

Thank you for inquiring about our Psy.D. program in School Psychology. Please download an application and recommendation forms here. The application process involves the following steps:

  1. You will need to complete an Application to the College of Graduate Studies. After completing this application, return it to the College of Graduate Studies. You will also need to have official copies of your Graduate Record Exam scores and academic transcripts sent to the College of Graduate Studies. The graduate college application, GRE scores, and transcripts should be sent as soon as possible. Upon receipt of your materials, the College of Graduate Studies may admit you to take graduate level courses at the University. This is not an admission to the School Psychology Program, however (see #4 below).
  2. Write or call the Financial Aids office if you are interested in teaching assistantships, research assistantships, student loans, or other financial assistance.   3. Have three professional (at least two of whom should be university professors) who are familiar with your academic ability and professional potential complete the attached recommendation forms. The professors should send the forms directly to the Psychology Department.
  4. In order to be considered for admission to the School Psychology Program, you must return the completed Application to the School Psychology Program to the Psychology Department. Please unclude unofficial or photocopies of GRE scores and transcripts with your application. The application must be received by February 1st. Well-qualified applicants may be admitted at other times if space is available. Your Departmental application file is initiated when this application is received. Applications to the Psychology Department which have all of the items requested (in #’s 3 & 4 above) will be reviewed for admission. You will be notified about admission decisions before or during the first week of April. Only complete applications are considered.
