Dear Radon Test Requester:

Thank you for your interest in using the Minnesota State University Radon Project to choose to test your home for Radon. Radon is a colorless, odorless, naturally occurring radioactive gas that forms from the radioactive breakdown of uranium, which is common in Minnesota soils.

If you live within 25 miles from Minnesota State University -Mankato, the MSURP can offer you either a electronic (based on availability) or a passive testing device for you to test your house. We often do both passive and active testing if we see unusual levels of radon in the test results. If you are outside our 25 miles range, we will be happy to mail you a test kit.

In the mail-out kit, you will find step-by-step directions explaining the procedure to follow to correctly use your Air Chek Radon Test Kit. If at any time you become confused, or would like clarification, do not hesitate to call the MSU Radon Hotline at (507) 389-1977.

The MSU Radon Project is able to quickly and efficiently deliver your results via US Mail, and also via e-mail or Internet download! All of these services are available to you with the only wish of a donation to our Radon Project. If this same service were performed by a contractor, the cost would likely excess $100. We thank you in anticipation for your support of our program!
