CAS

CAS is an acronym for Course Applicability System.

It is a computer program very similar in function to DARS that has a slightly different target audience. While DARS is meant to be used by people who are already students at Minnesota State University, Mankato, CAS is meant to be used primarily by people investigating what it would be like to become a student here--in terms of the academic programs we offer. In fact, students of Minnesota State University, Mankato can use CAS to investigate the academic and transfer policies of other schools.

Using CAS people can:

  • view our transfer equivalency tables
    • to see how individual courses would transfer in
  • view our degree program requirements
    • to see what would be expected to complete a particular degree program
  • obtain descriptions of Minnesota State University, Mankato courses
  • generate DARS audits based upon their actual transfer course work from other schools

All of the above information can be found for any of the schools in CAS. The CAS website describes the steps involved to accomplish each of the above items and provides assistance in doing so. More detailed information about CAS can be found here.

Not all schools are encompassed in CAS, but at this time it does contain information for most Minnesota institutions.
