The following tables display the current status of DARS encoding for the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 catalogs. Each year when a new catalog is produced, the DARS team must read and scrutinize it to determine what has changed from the previous year. Other sources of information are used in conjunction with the catalog to arrive at the information necessary to "create" this new catalog in DARS. This information includes:
It is a long but necessary process that allows us to produce DARS audits which reflect, as closely as possible, the information contained in the catalog. Given the extensiveness of the process and the number of programs offered, it should not be surprising that there is a waiting period involved in encoding a catalog into DARS. The goal, of course, is to make the waiting period as short as possible, given the resources available to the project. Overall, it is intended to have a catalog completely encoded before the next catalog is produced. Currently, we are working on completion of two catalogs at the same time.
The tables which follow are meant to give advisors an idea of the status of the encoding process for a particular catalog. That is, which programs have been completed and can be used to obtain audits and which ones cannot.
