In order for a student to obtain a DARS audit for their particular combination of degree, major, minor, and catalog year, the requirements and information for that degree program must be encoded in DARS. That is, DARS must be "told" what those requirements are by people reading the catalog and entering the information into the DARS program itself. Given the large amount of information contained in a catalog (roughly 200 different majors and 70 different minors), the encoding process takes time.
