The undergraduate graduation process at Minnesota State University, Mankato begins by a student filling out an application for graduation form roughly one year in advance of their anticipated graduation date. Applying a year in advance gives the student time to correct possible problems that would prevent graduation. Application forms are available at the Campus Hub, the Office of the Registrar, or online.
Applications for graduation are due no later than two weeks (14 calendar days) prior to the last day of a given term. Applications received after the deadline will not be evaluated for that term and will be moved to the next term.
Applications are processed by the Graduation Department in the order they are received. The processing done assures that all requirements and general University policies are met. When these items are met, degree(s) are placed onto a student's record and a diploma is sent.
The exact requirements for any given degree program are found in the catalog being followed by the student and should be consulted to assure a problem-free graduation check-out. To further make the graduation process go smoothly:
If you have already applied for graduation and now wish to make changes, do not fill out a brand new application--simply fill out a revised application for graduation.
