One of the benefits of DARS is its readibility. Audits are a little lengthy so that they can include enough verbiage to make most things self-explanitory for both students and advisors.
The overall idea of an audit is based on the fact that all degree programs are composed of basically the same parts. That is, all audits contain the following parts, presented in this order:
Generally, every requirement will have a description and a listing of the courses that can be taken to complete it. Requirements will show "NO" or "OK" at their left side to indicate whether they have been completed. Individual parts of requirements will show "+'s" or "-'s" on their left side to similarly indicate completion.
The heading of an audit displays a student's name, the degree program and catalog year that the audit is run for, and the student's advisor. The first column gives various general information and a legend for the symbols that may appear on the audit.
All of a student's courses are listed in departmental order at the beginning of an audit, showing the term takens, credits, grades, and titles. The items that next appear on an audit follow the listed shown above.
