The check-out process begins by a student filling out an application for graduation. This should be done roughly one year in advance of their anticipated graduation date. Applying a year in advance gives the student time to correct possible problems that would prevent graduation. Application forms are available at the Campus Hub, the Office of the Registrar, or [PDF] online (91 KiB).
Applications for graduation are due no later than two weeks (14 calendar days) prior to the last day of a given term. Applications received after the deadline will not be evaluated for that term and will be moved to the next term.
Applications are processed by the Graduation Department in the order they are received.
The check-out process assures that all requirements and general University policies are met. The process itself involves an examination and comparison of the courses taken by a student against the requirements of their degree program within the catalog being followed.
When all University requirements have been completed, degree(s) are placed onto a student's record and a diploma is sent.
If a student has already applied for graduation and now wishes to make changes, a [PDF] revised application for graduation form (91 KiB) should be filed.
